Ohio's Working Class Candidate

TJ stands with the middle class. Always.

jobs & the economy

The #1 challenge of our time is that working men and women haven't seen a raise in a generation.

Our standard of living has stagnated and even fallen as corporations and the rich use there undue influence with politicians to take all the gains for themselves, while leaving the middle class behind.

Future opportunity is being destroyed in our country, and TJ will fight to reclaim our fair share of the wealth that working men and women have worked so hard to create.

I am committed to setting up dedicated funding to our failing roads, bridges, ports, railroads, and transit projects we so desperately need.

Healthcare is a right and not a privilege. None of us go to the emergency room because we want to. The Affordable Care Act guaranteed coverage of preexisting conditions, allows those under 26 to stay on their parents health insurance, and provides Medicaid coverage to Ohioans earning the least. The ACA, although imperfect, was only the start. Anyone supporting the repeal of 'Obamacare' (the ACA) is coming after these benefits meaning the loss of coverage for hundreds of thousands of Ohioans.

TJ is against the cuts passed by Congress that would affect 2/3 of our seniors in nursing homes. This draconian measure would put the care of tens of millions of our elderly citizens at risk. Again, current leadership has failed those who have paid into the system their entire lives. TJ will work to see that these types of cuts are never implemented and that affordable care is accessible for all.

Repeal of nafta and fair trade

TJ has been opposed to NAFTA since it's passage in 1993. The disastrous trade deal resulted in the devastation so apparent in manufacturing and the resulting loss of jobs in Ohio. 'Free Trade' is not possible with a neighbor with no environmental and no labor laws. It's full repeal or renegotiation will be at the top of TJ's legislative priorities if elected.

Environment & Renewable energy

TJ has worked in the coal fired power plants in northern Ohio along with Perry nuclear power plant, and in the renewable energy sector. While we need to protect our current grid and electric infrastructure, we also need to prepare for the future for our children and our children's children. The time for renewable energy alternatives is now.

Wind and solar can supply not only cheap and reliable energy production now, but provides good, well paying jobs that can't be outsourced or shipped south of the border.

TJ is committed to protecting our environment by investing in renewables and the jobs that they will bring and sustain.

We need to protect the livelihoods of our seniors. Strong steps need to be taken in order to preserve the well-being and longevity of this  American promise.

We can do this together.
